Itinerary: Cochin / Anthirapally / Munnar / Alleppey / Mararikulam
On arrival at the international airport of Cochin, welcome by our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Visit Cochin or day at leisure as per your flight schedule.
In the morning you will meet with your guide. Start your visit to Cochin with a visit to the palace of Mattenchery. Built-in 1555 by the Portuguese, the first Westerners to arrive in the region, as a gift for the Raja of Cochin, Veera Kerala Varma. Its nickname is in fact due to the restoration assumed by the Dutch in 1663. Despite these Western origins, the palace is built in the Indo-Keralese style, with its beautifully carved wooden frames, magnificent painted coffered ceilings, and roofs resembling to Chinese pagodas. Then visit the Kochi Synagogue the oldest synagogue in all Commonwealth countries and the Jewish quarter (closed on Fridays & Saturdays). In the afternoon visit the Saint Francis Church and Santa Cruz Basilica. Evening free walk in the streets of fort Kochi and visit of Chinese fishing nets.
In the morning drive to Athirapally. Located in the Thrissur district of Kerala is the enchanting destination of Athirapally. Known famously for the slew of rivers that flow through the place and the waterfall, the tourist destination is a haven for nature lovers who want to soak in beauty and tranquillity. Visit the Athirapaly waterfalls & the Sholayar Dam. Night at leisure at Anthirapally.
In the morning drive to Munnar. A small serene hill station in Kerala is also known as the tea garden of India. The unending expanse of tea plantations and rolling hills in Munnar make it look like a picture from a postcard. Check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit Tata Tea Museum. Evening leisure at your hotel.
In the morning with a local guide enjoy a half-day hiking tour into the tea gardens of Munnar. Arrive at the top to have a panoramic view of the mountainous and green landscape. Return to the hotel and late afternoon at leisure.
In the morning drive through the serene tea gardens and villages of Kerala to Alleppey. The Backwaters capital of Kerala. On arrival check into your houseboat and enjoy the beautiful and tranquil backwater cruise till sunset. Dinner and night on board.
In the morning cruise on to enjoy the sunrise over the Arabian sea. After breakfast check out from Houseboat and drive to Mararkulam, a beachside fishermen’s village. Relax on the beach or at your hotel.
Take a stroll along the beach or rent a bicycle to explore the Marari village and its local markets.
