Arrive at Dibrugarh airport and transfer to Mancotta or Chowkidhinghee Heritage Tea Bungalow. You have the evening free to relax. Overnight stay in Dibrugarh.
After breakfast, drive to Digboi (80 km/ 02 hrs), the first Oil town in South Asia. You will visit the Oil Museum and the II World War Allied Forces Cemetery, where the Commonwealth War Graves Commission permanently maintains 200 graves. Return to Dibrugarh for an overnight stay at the Chang Bungalow. Digboi is situated in the Tinsukia district in the northeastern part of the state of Assam, India. Petroleum oil was discovered here in the late 19th century and the Digboi oilfield is one of the oldest oil fields. Digboi Museum remains closed every Monday.
After early breakfast, you drive to Tinsukia and check in at your Tea Bungalow. You visit Maguri beel, a shallow wetland, on a country boat. The slow silent approach of the boat allows you to see a number of ducks and geese without disturbing the peaceful aquatic life. Return for lunch, after which, take a river cruise on the Brahmaputra for watching the spectacular sunset and possibly chances of viewing the river dolphin. Overnight stay in Tinsukia.
After breakfast, drive to Jorhat and check in. Overnight stay in Jorhat.
After breakfast, drive to Nimatighat (18 km to ferry ghat) and then take a public ferry to reach Majuli (approx 1 ½ hrs on the ferry). On arrival, transfer to your lodge. You will visit Sattras, known for its Hindu monasteries. Majuli is the largest freshwater mid-river deltoid island in the world. It is situated in the upper reaches of the river Brahmaputra in Assam. Overnight stay in Majuli.
Majuli is famous for its Sastras, these are the monasteries run by the Vaishnavite priests. These Sastras are not only religious centers but also host several performances and events. Enjoy the unique experience and watch these traditional art forms. After seeing the Sastras, make your way to Missing tribe village, which is one of the largest tribes in North East. You will surely marvel at their simple and natural lifestyle. You can even try out their traditional rice beer which is fully natural and delicious. Later in the evening get back to your stay and relax for the night.
In the afternoon, take a public ferry to reach Nimatighat and then by road to Jorhat. Check-in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Jorhat.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Jorhat airport for your flight back home.
