Day 1 – Arrival in Cochin
Morning or afternoon: Arrival at the Cochin international airport, welcome by our local representative and transfer to your hotel in Fort Kochi to start your tour to Kerala & Karnataka.
Evening: In the evening enjoy a dance program of Kathakali, a traditional dance form of Kerala. Watch in awe as performers decked in vibrant costumes and dramatic make-up narrate epic tales through a combination of elaborate gestures, intricate footwork, and compelling facial expressions, offering you a captivating glimpse into Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.
Day 2 – Cochin: Cochin sightseeing
Morning: In the morning, following breakfast, we embark on a tour to discover the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. Constructed in 1555 by the Portuguese—the first Europeans to settle in the region—it was a gift for the King of Cochin, Veera Kerala Varma. The alternative name comes from renovations carried out by the Dutch in 1663. Despite its European roots, the palace exhibits Indo-Keralite architectural style, characterized by intricately carved frameworks, splendidly decorated compartmental ceilings, and roofs akin to Chinese pagodas.
Afternoon: In the afternoon, we visit the St. Cross Cathedral of Cochin and the Chinese fishing nets. The St. Cross Cathedral in Cochin is more than a religious building. Built in 1505, it has witnessed the ebb and flow of politics, religion, and culture in Cochin for over five centuries.
Next, we tour the Chinese fishing nets. Originating from the coast of the South China Sea, they have become an iconic image of Cochin.
Late Afternoon: In the late afternoon, attend a Kathakali dance performance, a form of danced theater native to the state of Kerala, known for its elaborate costumes, distinctive makeup, and complex facial expressions.
Jour 3 – Cochin / Kumarakom
Morning: After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, settle into a traditional Keralite houseboat for an overnight sojourn. Experience the magic as you embark on a tranquil backwater cruise, gliding over placid waters and passing through verdant landscapes, tiny hamlets, and paddy fields, offering you a slice of life in rural Kerala.
Evening: In the evening enjoy a delectable dinner aboard the houseboat.
Day 4 – Kumarakom / Periyar :
Morning: After breakfast in the morning in houseboat, depart for Periyar National Park, an ecological gem nestled in the heart of Kerala’s mountains.
Afternoon: Upon arriving at Periyar, head off to visit a spice garden. Embark on a unique sensory experience as you explore a spice garden in Periyar. Learn about the local spices while wandering through this lush garden.
Late Afternoon: Attend an enthralling performance of Kalaripayattu, the ancient martial art of Kerala, for a deep dive into local culture and traditions. Experience an impressive demonstration of martial skills, acrobatics, and athleticism.
Day 5– Periyar:
Morning: After breakfast, head out for a rafting trip on Periyar Lake. This journey provides a unique opportunity to observe the wildlife and flora of Periyar National Park, surrounded by lush forests.
Afternoon: In the afternoon, return to your hotel for some relaxation time. Free time for an Ayurvedic massage. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy a free evening at your hotel.
Day 6 – Periyar / Munnar
Morning: After breakfast at your hotel on board of your house-boat, soaking in the serene beauty of Kumarakom’s backwaters, disembark from house boat and drive to Munnar. A small hill station nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Western Ghats, Munnar is renowned for its vast expanses of tea plantations.
Afternoon: Upon your arrival in Munnar, check into your hotel. Take some time to unwind, soaking in the peaceful ambiance of this idyllic hill station.
Evening: As the evening descends, step out to explore Munnar’s local markets. These bustling hubs of activity are a treasure trove of aromatic spices and finely curated tea selections.
Jour 7 – Munnar
Morning: After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a half-day guided walking excursion into the verdant, misty tea plantations of Munnar. As you roam the emerald hills, you’ll marvel at the breathtaking panorama, where slopes of tea bushes stretch to the horizon. This is the ideal opportunity to capture some stunning photos. Afternoon: In the afternoon back to your hotel. In the later afternoon visit the Tata Tea Museum. Here, you’ll embark on an informative journey that traces the evolution of tea processing in this region. The museum is housed in a 100-year-old building, nestled within the Nallathanni Estate. It showcases a variety of antiquated tea-rolling machines, including the rudimentary ‘Rotorvane,’ and the original version of the ‘Ctc’ machine. Don’t miss the demonstration that offers an inside look into the entire process of tea making, from leaf picking to final packaging.
Evening: Spend your leisure time at your own pace, soaking in the serene ambiance of Munnar at your hotel.
Jour 8 – Munnar / Monkey Falls / Coimbatore
Morning: After breakfast embark on your journey from Munnar to Coimbatore. As you traverse the winding roads through lush tea plantations and misty mountains, take the opportunity to absorb the vibrant scenery that unfolds before your eyes. The drive itself is an experience to cherish. On the halte at Monkey falls to admire its natural beauty.
Afternoon: Upon arrival in Coimbatore, check into your hotel and time to relax.
Evening: In the early evening visit to the majestic Esha Foundation and the awe-inspiring statue of Shiva. The towering statue is not just an architectural marvel but also a testament to the spiritual undercurrent that flows through the city. Return to hotel and time to relax.
Jour 9 – Coimbatore / Coonoor / Ooty
Morning: After breakfast at your hotel, begin your day early with a scenic drive from Coimbatore to Coonoor. As you meander through the breathtakingly beautiful roads, the air fills with the fresh scent of tea leaves from the surrounding plantations.
Afternoon: Late in the morning upon arrival in Coonoor, a quaint hill station renowned for its serene ambience, embark on an unforgettable journey on the historic Nilgiri Mountain Railway (a train ride of 1h10 till Ooty). Known affectionately as the ‘Toy Train’, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a unique travel experience. As the train chugs along the verdant slopes and through dark tunnels, you’ll be provided with stunning panoramic views of the Nilgiri Hills.
Evening: Upon arrival in Ooty, widely known as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’, check into your hotel and relax at your hotel.
Jour 10 – Ooty / Bandipur
Morning: After breakfast explore the renowned Ooty Botanical Gardens. Spanning 55 acres, the Gardens are home to a diverse collection of exotic and indigenous plants. Jour 13 – Mysore

Jour 14 – Mysore / Sriranga Patna / Bangalore
Morning: After breakfast, depart towards Sri Ranga Patna, a historical town known for its fort and temples. Visit the Ranganathaswamy Temple, an architectural masterpiece dedicated to Lord Vishnu, followed by an exploration of Tipu Sultan’s Fort, steeped in history. Visit the mausoleum of Tipu Sultan, an important historical site.
Afternoon: Departure for Bangalore, the cosmopolitan capital of Karnataka. En route, enjoy the changing landscapes and possibly stop at local artisan shops.
Evening: Transfer to Bangalore airport for your departure.
